We are outraged by the tragic deaths and acts of discrimination against members of Black communities that have taken place over the past few weeks.  As a firm, we stand in solidarity with Black communities against all forms of anti-Black discrimination, racism and systemic bias. 

Sadly these events are part of a larger and long-standing problem of injustice and persecution.  Members of Black communities not only face overt acts of racism and discrimination.  They also face more subtle, but equally troubling forms such as unconscious bias, isolation and other demeaning conduct.  

Speaking out about these issues is important, but it is not enough.  We have a responsibility to act.  In that regard, TGF has made a donation to the Black Legal Action Centre, a non-profit community legal clinic that provides free legal services for low or no income Black residents.  We are committed to ongoing training programs for our lawyers and staff on diversity, inclusion and recognizing unconscious bias.
