Jessica has a general civil litigation practice with a strong focus on commercial litigation. Prior to completing her articles at a litigation boutique in Toronto, Jessica spent one year in London, England on a Bedingfield Scholarship, training as a barrister at Gray’s Inn.
REPRESENTATIVE WORK
- Participated in litigation team as counsel to TransCanada Energy in a major dispute
- Assisted senior counsel to Canadian Pacific Railway in respect of litigation with the federal, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba governments
During her undergraduate degree, Jessica was a Canadian Millennium Scholar and won the Maurice Goldenberg Memorial Scholarship for excellence in political science. While studying at the University of Oxford, Faculty of Law, Jessica conducted international law research for Professor Stefan Talmon. She also volunteered at the National Centre for Domestic Violence, helping victims obtain legal remedies against their abusers. Jessica was the top speaker at the 2007 World Universities Debating Championship and is the former president of the Canadian University Society for Intercollegiate Debate.
Jessica is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association and the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF).
