Lakeport Brewing: A D&O liability claim that resulted in a $1.8 million award
TGF defended the former principal of Lakeport Brewing Corporation in defence of a $50 million officer and director liability claim. The former principal’s entire net worth was at stake in the litigation on unfounded allegations of misrepresentation and other wrongful conduct.
TGF aggressively represented the former principal and, after a three week trial, recovered a judgment dismissing all claims against our client. TGF also recovered a $1.8 million cost award against the plaintiff and had an appeal from the trial decision to the Court of Appeal dismissed.
