Representing the dissenting shareholders of Baffinland Iron Mines Corporation in pursuit of shareholder remedies, in tandem with a companion class action. Pursuant to a precedent-setting decision on a stay motion, Roomey v. Arcelormittal SA 2013 ONSC 6062 CanLII followed in Vaeth v. North American Palladium Ltd. 2016 ONSC5015.
The two proceedings have been joined such that the bulk of the common litigation costs are spread across a larger pool of litigants, resulting in greater access to justice for the dissent group.
