Megan maintains a general civil litigation practice with a strong focus on commercial litigation. Her clientele includes directors and officers, creditors, shareholders, private and public corporations, partnerships and small business owners. Megan assists her clients in achieving effective resolution by way of shareholder remedies, specific performance/injunctive relief, damages or other relief for their contractual disputes and tort claims, including breach of fiduciary and statutory duties and negligence.
REPRESENTATIVE WORK
- Part of team advising the litigation trustee of Hollinger Inc. in advancing the litigation claims of the estate against five groups of defendants
- Acted in a proxy solicitation dispute for non-parties that were ultimately elected to the board of directors of Patheon Inc.
- Represented, as part of the TGF team, a major Canadian business process services company in a $100 million private arbitration arising from a contractual dispute
- Assisted in representation of a leading hotel chain in litigation proceedings pertaining to a contractual dispute
After studying theatre and film in New York and Montreal, Megan completed her undergraduate degree summa cum laude and earned the Gold Medal for highest standing in her year at the University of Ottawa. Megan went on to graduate cum laude from the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law where she earned distinctions in Trial Advocacy and Evidence. During law school, Megan served on the Executive Editorial Board of the Ottawa Law Review, a peer-reviewed, bilingual publication.
Megan is a member of The Advocates' Society, the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Bar Association, Civil Litigation Section. Megan is also a member in good standing of the Screen Actors Guild.
