Grant is a leading practitioner in the areas of bankruptcy, insolvency and banking law. He leads a broad practice, with a particular emphasis on the exercise of creditors' rights. Grant has developed particular expertise in representation of chartered banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions. He frequently acts as independent counsel for court-appointed officers, such as receivers, trustees in bankruptcy and monitors. Grant became a partner at TGF in 1999.

- Advising the monitor of Brainhunter Inc., a publicly traded provider of information technology and engineering staffing services
- Advising Marriott Hotel of Canada Limited in connection with the receivership of The Rosseau Resort Developments Inc. and the Red Leaves resort hotel and condominium development in Minett, Ontario
- Advising the court-appointed receiver of the Norshield Group of Companies, part of a hedge fund investment structure which raised more than $130 million from retail investors in Canada. The representation involves cross-border proceedings in the United States, Barbados and the Commonwealth of The Bahamas
- Advising the court-appointed receiver of Capital Bank International Limited in Grenada
- Advised the court-appointed interim receiver of HIP Interactive Corp., a publicly traded distributor, publisher and licencee of electronic games and media, and operator of an arcade game business
Grant has been an instructor in the Insolvency Law Section of the Bar Admission Course and he lectures and writes frequently on matters relating to insolvencies and the enforcement of rights as between debtors and creditors.
Grant is a member of the Insolvency, Business and Health Law Sections of the Ontario Bar Association and is also a member of the Turnaround Management Association.
